GrandeMetre Blue Planet® GMT Limited Edition – Gaze upon the starry night from the blue planet with a watch marked with 125 years of watchmaking craftsmanship

2014 marks the 125th anniversary of DOXA. To commemorate this historical moment, DOXA is introducing a 300-piece collectible limited edition watch – the GrandeMetre Blue Planet 125th Anniversary Edition. Equipped with an original and innovative world time display, this exclusive timepiece is a vivid illustration of the expansive global vision of DOXA.

A romantic appeal
The all-new GrandeMetre Blue Planet® GMT is equipped with a 42mm stainless steel case with a bezel in 18K solid rose gold (ref. D181RBU) or 18K solid yellow gold (ref. D181TBU). The rounded curves of the case perfectly blend with the smooth stainless steel lugs, expressive of the GrandeMetre’s elegant style. Inspired by “Blue Planet”, the dial’s sparkling blue aventurine portrays a romantic starry night and at the same time symbolises the perpetuity of time and space reflected in this classical design. A delicate engraving of our planet is etched on the blue mother-of-pearl on the case back, displaying an immaculate portrayal of the blue planet that echoes with the design on the dial and making this timepiece a true marvel to the eyes as well as a collectible item.

GMT and 24-hour display
Practical and outstanding functions mark this timepiece: two outer rings on the dial, one marked with the names of 24 time zones and another with the markings of 24 hours could be easily adjusted to tell the time anywhere in the world. By turning the crown at 2 o’clock (engraved with the Earth), the time zone ring could be rotated to display the world time. The 24-hour ring, combined with the centred red arrowed hand, will display the hour in 24-hour scale while the gold hour, minute and second hands display the time at the origin. This ring is adjusted via the crown at 4 o’clock (engraved with DOXA).

Limited to 300 pieces worldwide, the DOXA GrandeMetre Blue Planet® GMT is available in two versions and are both equipped with a top-quality Swiss automatic movement, sapphire crystal and a crocodile leather strap in brown or black. Six screws on the case back secure the watch’s exceptional water resistance to 50 metres. Combining accurate timing functions and convenient adjustments, the new DOXA timepiece is a reliable must-have for all frequent travellers.
